What is BeerLog?
BeerLog is a personal beer journal. You log the beers you've tried with a photo, a rating, and whatever notes you feel like. You can scan barcodes at the bottle shop to instantly check whether you've had a beer before, and see what your friends are drinking in a private activity feed.
Is BeerLog free?
Yes — BeerLog is free to use. There's no subscription and no ads.
Where can I use BeerLog?
One account works across web and mobile — your history syncs wherever you sign in.
How does barcode scanning work?
In the mobile app, tap Add → Scan and point the camera at the beer's barcode. If you've had it before, you'll see your photo, rating, and the date you last logged it. If it's new, the scan pre-fills the brewery and beer name so you can finish logging it in a couple of taps.
Worth scanning every time — even when the barcode isn't recognised yet. Logging the beer manually after a scan links the barcode to that beer for everyone, so the next person who scans it gets an instant answer. It's how the catalogue grows.
How do friends work?
Friending is a request-and-approve handshake. Search for someone's username and send a request; once they approve, their beers show up in your activity feed and yours in theirs. You can react, comment, and unfriend at any time.
Who can see the beers I log?
Only the friends you've approved. BeerLog is private by default — the beers you log don't appear in any public feed, and we don't sell or share your data. When you log a beer you choose who gets notified: all your friends, a specific few, or no one. See our privacy policy for the full breakdown.
Can I import from somewhere other than Untappd?
The import accepts CSV or JSON files matching Untappd's export format. If your history lives somewhere else, you can reformat it to match — the required columns are listed at the top of the import page.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from the app at any time. See the account deletion page for step-by-step instructions.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email [email protected]. A real human reads every message — usually within a day or two.
